C. R. Alam was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She grew up reading western novels and was inspired to write her own love stories from a young age. She used to handwrite her stories on legal pads that she still keeps in the attic. Her first novel, Echoing Hearts, has its seeds from one of those old writings.

After a satisfying but demanding career in the communications world, she decided it was time to pursue her long-time dream of being a romance writer. She loves crafting heartfelt love stories with strong yet vulnerable characters. And whenever she can, she'll entwine her love of travel and food into her books.

After living in Jakarta, the Midwest, and Nepal, C.R has now made a home in Durham, North Carolina, with her husband, daughter, and cat.
